One week into the new year and the All Star game is around the corner. We start the conversation with talk about the coming uptick in moves as the deadline approaches. Kane, Toews and others that will be available and where they will end up. We then segue into the Bruins GM, Don Sweeney, and how he has done for the last three years. Has he improved? We touch on some milestones and those that are on the horizon but very close. Bo Horvat's name is linked to going everywhere; add Seattle to that mix. Matt Dumba will be a UFA at the end of the season...will he make it to the end of the season with the Wild? We talk about our new Twitter Poll and the results from our last one (link below). The Penguins seem to have an issue with consistency and Jeff Marek talked to Shayna Goldman about this very subject. We add our two cents. Finally, is the Winter Classic still about the game or is it about the spectacle? We attempt to answer the question. Congrats to Victor Hedman and the new addition to his family and we wish a full recovery to Damar Hamlin in Buffalo! Give us a listen and enjoy the Show!

As the calendar rolls over into the year 2023, we at the Two Man Forecheck wish everyone a fabulous new year and much luck in whatever you do! Here we continue with the hockey talk, but start with sad news of the passing of Kris Letang's father. He wasn't scheduled to play today however this is a blow to the Letang family and we send our prayers and condolences to them. Matthew Poitras recorded a hat trick on December 28 and was player of the night. The Bruins may have something here based on his performance over the last season and a half. Jamie Benn has moved into second in goals scored for the Dallas Stars, but is still 200+ goals behind Mike Modano. Will Jamie catch him? Patrice Bergeron is in 3rd in points for Bruins all time with Esposito (an ongoing theme), but is there any movement in other categories for the 5 time Selke winner? Connor Bedard is clearly going to be the number one overall pick this year, but his WJC stats indicate that he is clearly something special. Ovi has recorded his 30th hat trick of his career, which puts him at 806. He will catch Gretzky, but will he get to 1,000 goals? Finally we close out the first show of the new year with some second half questions that can only be answered over the course of the next few months. So join in and start a new tradition listening to the Two Man Forecheck. Let us know what you think and...Enjoy the Show! Happy New Year!

Christmas has come and gone, and we continue for the break to come to an end, but there is still plenty to talk about. The World Junior Tournament has started and the Canadian team has lost a game! We also looked at a couple B's prospects taking part in the tourney. We start the show with the investigation into the B's signing of Mitchell Miller only to have no misconduct found on their part. It was to be independent, but since the B's paid for it, independence comes into question. The Hamburglar, Andrew Hammond, has retired due to an injury which he will not fully recover from in his ankle. Ryder Getzlaf has taken the role of junior reporter for the day and run with it, entertaining us in the process. See the link below. We look back at an older show and discover that there has not been much change in the officiating in the NHL while breaking down a college game where a player was given a major penalty for an incident that wasn't as well as a knee to knee hit by Sam Bennett. We talk about how underrated William Nylander is for the Leafs and touch on players for the Bruins that could potentially win awards this season. Hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday season but lets get back to the game of Hockey. Enjoy the Show!

Well, Christmas is right around the corner, but here at the Two Man Forecheck we are celebrating Show number 300! And even though it is a Monday night, we are pulling out the stops to give you another packed show. We start with a little history and hi-jinks before bantering about the tantrum thrown by Jacob Trouba. Has he inspired his team or is there something else at work? Ovi has reached 800 goals and did it with a hat trick! He will break Gretzky's record we believe, so the new question is...will he reach 1000? Ryan Reaves hit Filip Hronek pretty hard in their last match up, but was it a legal hit? We discuss. The Winnipeg Jets are suffering through many injuries this season, so can they sustain their current level of success? We review the PHF standings and talk about the Boston Pride. A prospect has crossed our desks that may be worth a watch...Andrew Cristall of the Kelowna Rockets. We break down the results of our last Twitter Poll and Mike tells us why he's worried about the current state of the Bruins. As stated, a packed show so give us a listen and stick around for the next 300! Enjoy the show! Oh yeah...Don't forget the World Junior Tournament later this month or the Boston Beanpot Tournaments in February 2023!

As we close in on Christmas the standings have not changed much and we have to start accepting that the Devils are for real. But we talk about a different team that no one is paying attention to...the Winnipeg Jets. Taylor Hall has been tagged as a cancer in the locker room, but his recent post game interview shows a much different side to the winger. Jack Hughes has set a record for the longest shift in a game at 6 minutes and 2 seconds. We update Evander Kane and the Caps injuries and players returning. Tage Thompson has recorded his second 6 point night of the season. We discuss a few B's prospects and Jack Studnicka. Finally, we posit evidence that Marner and Matthews are the new Sedin twins with their high talent level with very little impact in the playoffs...followed with a Twitter Poll question (link below). Much to break down and comment on, so let us know how you feel and Enjoy the Show!

The calendar has shifted to December so we now have to start believing in the standings. Devils are on their way and the Kraken are as well. Brock Boeser is swirling in the rumor mill again, but this time it may be for real. Here we also dive into the most recent Athletic NHL Power Rankings from December 2. Kris Letang had a stroke and is out indefinitely. While not his first, he has said he will be back soon and we wish him a speedy, full recovery. Mitch Marner is on a ridiculous 19 game point streak which no one is talking about. Roope Hintz signed an 8 year extension which will pay him more than Jason Robertson, but we can explain it. Carter Hart is part of one of the flukiest goals we've seen in a while. Jack Quinn scores a crazy shootout goal and Brady Tkachuk scores a Gordie Howe hat trick and an OT winner (a first). We discuss last week's twitter poll and launch a new one (link below). Finally, the salary cap may increase next season by as much as 4 million dollars. So much to discuss and even content not mentioned here. Let us know and Enjoy the Show!

Thanksgiving in America has come and gone, are the standings for real? We discuss them and launch a Twitter Poll asking about the biggest surprise (link below). We also break down the Kraken roster and discuss St. Louis' biggest issues. David Poile has been a GM for 1500 wins with two organizations. Is this a hollow award? We discuss. John Tortorella was interviewed pre-game about coaching and today's NHL. His comments are telling. We crush the Twitter Poll results from last week and determine that Kane is probably more likely to be traded. Ryan Reaves was traded to the Minnesota Wild. Finally, Val James and Jason Pominville have been inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame. Lots to digest so give a listen and let us know what you are thinking. Enjoy the Show!

As we approach Thanksgiving in the U.S., we stop and look at the standings, which are still in upheaval but starting to take shape. We examine the connection between the Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames as well as Bobby Lou and Tim Thomas. Scott Darling made some comments while doing analysis for the 'Hawks. Jack Hughes is the fifth youngest in Devils' history to hit 50 goals so we talk about him and other milestones. John Tortorella has coached 1400 games, most by an American born coach. We also find some Tort gold revealing why in-game interviews are not a good idea (See the link below). Erik Karlsson has had a resurgence this season so we talk about him and potential trade destinations. We have a Twitter Poll up regarding him and Patrick Kane (See below). Brady Tkachuk has come out in defense of his coach, as well as other Ottawa issues. Finally, we talk about dream line mates for Ovi and Crosby. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Enjoy the Show!

With the standings still up in the air, we don't have a clear picture of who is top of the league. Right now Boston and Vegas are up there. This week we touch on a couple Boston Bruins stories featuring Connor Clifton and Jim Montgomery. We start with an Evander Kane update and we break down the St. Louis Blues. Dominic Tiano (@DominicTiano) tweeted about trading Derek Forbort...we discuss. We have a discourse regarding the best goalie in Boston, currently it would be Corrine Schroeder of the Pride. Thomas Freel wants other players to hate him, which reminds us of a couple other NHL players. Tkachuk suspended, along with the Toronto Six head coach. Finally, there is the Sled Hockey Classic happening November 17-20 in Anaheim, California. So much hockey related content so listen and tell us what you think. Enjoy the Show!

The calendar has turned over to November and the Bruins have unfortunately (for them) lost their second game. Still, we can't say with any degree of accuracy who will come out on top as the standings are topsy turvy. We start this week's show with two teams that are struggling; the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs. We delve into what may be a tough situation when the Bruins get all their defensemen back. Eight players for six spots doesn't work. The B's have also inked Mitchell Miller and we put a timer on the conversation for this topic (first time for everything!). There are more than a few milestones coming up for players and we discuss them here. The Coyotes have an interesting situation with visiting dressing areas at their arena; we take a look. Is Kris Letang a hall of famer? We discuss and give our opinions as well as take a look at the Twitter Poll. Let us know if you think he is or isn't and why. Enjoy the Show!
